Members Present: Alderman Deward Junior Barnes, Sheri Flynn, Joseph McNeil, and Cleveland Hatch, City Attorney Sharon Fortenberry, and Mayor Alice Black
Members Absent: Tim Bogy, Mark Caviness and Recorder-Treasurer Robert Blessing
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Alice Black.
Mayor Black announced that the Christmas parade would be at 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, December 8 th. The parade will be on Division Street from North to South. the Mayor also stated that the Christmas decorations are up and she has received many compliments on them. In addition the Mayor extends thanks to all who donated for the decorations.
A copy of the city ordinance as to maintaining real property was sent to the attorney for the DeWitt school board. The letter indicates that the property had been mowed, but the council knows that the large expanse has not been mowed. The school hoard meeting is January 11, 2010, at 7:00 p.m,
The Ordinance to repeal the ordinance for one-way streets around the school property was read for the second time.
There was a discussion about garbage pick-up and the type containers for the garbage sacks. There is no ordinance requiring any type container,
A proposed date of Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. is set for the budget meeting.
A discussion was had, as to Christmas bonuses for city employees. It was suggested that full time employees receive $125.00 and part-time employees receive $75.00. A Motion was made by Deward Barnes and seconded by ,Joe. McNeil that tie bonuses be as stated. All voted aye; motion carried.
A motion was made by Deward Barnes and seconded by Joe McNeil to adjorn the meeting. All voted aye; motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
